Acceptable Use Policy

Monza encourages their customers to explore the vast range of posibilities on the Internet. However, we expect our customers to have respect for the rights of others, and realize they are a guest on our servers. We have the following policies of acceptable use. Accounts will be terminated if these policies are violated. If you do not agree to these policies, please contact the webmaster and we will close out your account and refund any unused fees.

Monza customers must NOT:

  • Attempt to gain access to any file on our system or any other system on the Internet that you do not have authorized or implied permission to access. Monza is one of the few Internet Providers that readily allows customers to have UNIX shell access. Shell users have a particular responsibility to respect files not owned by the user. Specifically forbidden are logging on to a computer where you do not have a valid account, or attempting to gain privileged or "root" access to any Internet server without authorization.
  • Harass users by any means, including email, chat, or talk/write. If any individual on the Internet requests you do not send them email, this request must be honored.
  • Consume excessive system resources, such as disk space, RAM, bandwidth or processor time. No activities may disrupt our overall network or Internet connectivity.
  • Permission from Monza Web Hosting is required before running any kind of bot, or to run any program while not logged on. To request permission to run any program while not connected, contact the webmaster.
  • No illegal copies of software of any kind may be stored or distributed from our servers. This includes illegal programs not written for your processor (IE ROM dumps, raw disk images, etc.).
  • No material of an adult "pornographic" nature is allowed on our personal or virtual web pages. Monza is the sole judge of appropriateness of material. However, we do not control content on newsgroups nor of co-located servers.
  • No "spamming" of email or newsgroups is allowed by any Monza customer. In other words, no bulk unsolicited email or newsgroup postings may be sent by our customers. Newsgroup postings must be appropriate for the group.
In other words, respect the rights of others, and help make the Internet a pleasant experience for all!
